Open Food Facts
Product data from Open Food Facts, © Open Food Facts contributors.
- The product catalog built into the app is a database derived from Open Food Facts: products sold in Poland or Ukraine or made in Ukraine, plus a few brands and products sold elsewhere, cleaned and checked for plausibility. It is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0; its individual contents under the Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0.
- A few of its rows carry values corrected from the manufacturer’s own page, or are packs Open Food Facts does not hold, with the label values a shop’s or manufacturer’s product page states. Each such row names its source.
- Product photos are not part of the catalog. The app loads them from Open Food Facts, where they are © their contributors under CC BY-SA 3.0.
Share-alike. Under the ODbL, if you publicly use a database adapted from this one, you must offer it under the ODbL too. The derived database and the scripts that build it: [CATALOG SOURCE URL].
Open Food Facts data is contributed by volunteers and can be incomplete or wrong. You can fix a product at the source, on its Open Food Facts page.
The food library
- Nutrition values of the foods that ship with the app come from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy, and FNDDS for one food), which is in the public domain.
- Food photos come from Wikimedia Commons contributors, under CC0, public-domain, CC BY and CC BY-SA licences, cropped and resized for the app. The list of every photo with its author, licence and source will be published here.
Restaurant and café menus
Menus carry the nutrition values each place publishes itself, on its own menu, nutrition table or website. Where a place states only calories and weight, protein, fat and carbohydrates are our estimates, marked as estimated in the app. Names and trademarks belong to their owners; Upwell is not affiliated with them, and no logos or photos of theirs are used.
